New Product Release (VxR2)
Additional enhancements & management tools
The team at Maximum Availability are pleased to announce further enhancements to the *noMAX Suite of Products.  Our new product release (*noMAX garrison V5R2 and *noMax defender V4R2) continues to extend the capability of the *noMAX product range and provides advanced customer functionality - improving the control and manageability of users’ IBM i environments, and saving you time.

Even greater security and confidence are available with this release including additional auditing tools, enhanced spool file replication, improved journal management and an increase in IFS replication performance.

Key features of this new release are:

• Support of *LOB entries in tables – specifically for customers running applications such as SAP
• Added support for Identity Columns
• *OMIT functionality; the ability to OMIT replication at both object and file level (including GUI support)
• Internal Synchronization Enhancements
• A stand-alone Remote Journaling Tool to monitor journaling status and issue re-activation requests
• The ability to manage data transfer size via an improved method
• Enhancement of patrolMAX; Data Queue pointer now supports either direction DDM and users now have the ability to display data queue content
• Support for Independent Auxiliary Storage Pools (IASP)
• IBM MQ Series replication support
• IFS Audit and Reporting
• Support for Virtual Device Descriptions
• IFS Autonomics capability
• Support for RMVJRNCHG functionality

In addition, a range of new enhancements to the base code have been designed for the purpose of making *noMAX even quicker, smarter and easier to monitor, such as;

• Merge of MXSGMBAS & MXSGOBAS; meaning only 1 file needs to be opened and offering easier running of file queries
• Support for options run via WRK* menus now in base code
• Removal of the configuration job DFT_APYGRP
• Rename of the MX00000000 job (now ‘cfgname’RCV)
• Sync Point Notification process enhanced to support the use of an IFS Configuration.
• GUI - Work with Journal enhancements; allows the user to access related journals which further simplifies management
• GUI - additional submit and scheduling options (up to 7 days in advance)
• IFS re-sync command and functionality; a new command has been added which can be used directly on the Source system to re-sync IFS objects
• Additional license key reminders
• GUI enhancements – monitoring and performance
