Maximum Availability launches successfully into Japanese Market
Maximum Availability, the creator of the *noMAX Suite of Products and a world leader in High Availability and Disaster Recovery Software Solutions announced today the establishment of an office in Tokyo, Japan. The new facility, based in Tokyo’s Minato Business District, cements the company’s strong presence in the Asia Pacific region while the expansion into Japan reflects the company’s confidence that the iSeries HA and DR market in that country is set for significant growth.
Since launching the new *noMAX Suite of Products at the recent IBM iSeries Software Solutions Event in Tokyo, Maximum Availability has signed agreements with six resellers, focusing on the key areas of Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka. The company has also secured its first major Japanese clients and has a sales pipeline that is growing rapidly.
Mr. Kaz Handa, Maximum Availability’s Vice President, Sales – Asia Pacific, said that with more than ten resellers already secured in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, The Philippines, India and Sri Lanka, the company is well positioned to capitalise on the unique challenges that the Japanese market presents. “We have invested significant time and resource to ensure that our products and all supporting material have been adapted to conform with Japanese business requirements. This includes the development of a fully adapted Graphical User Interface (GUI) and the hiring of a full-time technical specialist based in Tokyo to deal with local technical support issues,” he said.
Maximum Availability has delivered over 40 successful *noMAX implementations across the Asia Pacific and Australasian region to-date. The establishment of an office in Japan provides a well positioned strategic presence alongside the company’s focus in the United States and Europe.
Mr. Handa noted that the iSeries market is rapidly evolving and the requirement for customers to replicate data in real-time to a remote location is growing exponentially and in parallel with the need for outsourced business continuity and disaster recovery services. “This is particularly the case in Japan where a number of major earthquakes in recent years has focused the iSeries community’s attention on ensuring that business critical information is adequately protected from costly downtime and data loss.”
“Having such a dedicated and focused commitment in Japan means that the *noMAX Suite of Products will quickly be able to provide highly integrated, scalable and affordable iSeries software replication solutions to all businesses of all sizes. With all this said – we expect 2006 to be a watershed year,” Mr. Handa concluded.
